Brand Your Future!--- The Ciwei Campus OTD in SIVA

On the afternoon of November 20th, "Public Welfare Tour of Ciwei Campus OTD" was successfully conducted in SIVA ShiXun building 3006.
Two distinguished guests from different industries brought wonderful speeches to our students. Not only to introduce the status of the industry and answer questions for students’ internship, but also to share their own work and life experience. What a fruitful event that is full of practical knowledge and methods!

First of all, Janlie, the senior lecturer of Institute of Swiss International Branding, made a wonderful opening speech. She gave a warm welcome to CIWEI platform and two guests, she also looked forward to maintaining a good relationship with CIWEI which is a comprehensive platform with focusing of experience, practice and growth of university students, then she invited the guests to share their valuable experience.

Guest: Tony Yan
Tony has 5-year experience in public relations. He is now working for Archetype (formerly Text100), a famous international public relations company. He has a rich brand service history, in media relations, copy-writing, public relations activities and has profound experience in other aspects.
Tony Yan told us how he rose from being a career nerd to an expert in public relations. And unveiled the mysterious "public relations firm" for us. From his speech, students learned about the functions of public relations as well as classification and operation of public relations companies.
He was kind enough to reveal the skills that PR firms look for when recruiting interns. Tony also offered advices on preparation and "growth advice for new employees" for students who want to enter the public relations industry.

Guest: Esther Zeng
Esther majored in Visual communication of Chinese academy of fine arts, she is now the Brand Partner of Tian & Kong Advertising and Cao Shuai Self - built COO. She has more than 10 years of experience in media and advertising creative communication, integrated marketing expertise. She has extensive experience in integrating social media and KOL celebrity resources.
She introduced to us some advertising creative processes such as Unionpay, Tencent Video, l 'oreal and Drip Dew. With her own working experience, she conveyed to the students the importance of persistence, choice and hope.
At the same time, in the busy work, we also can't forget to keep healthy body, chat with close friends relax to release pressure.

Mock Interview
A mock interview session was also held. Two guests conducted mock interviews for two students. And comments and Suggestions on their performance.
After the lecture tour, students also had heated interactive discussions with guests. The guests not only answered the students' questions, but also pointed out the direction and provided opportunities for students who were confused about the internship.

- Q1：Do grades on school report have a big impact on job interviews?
- A1：Not all grades on the school report shall affect the interview. Grades in subjects relevant to the position you are applying for are of referential value.
- Q2：What activities should I participate in to enrich my resume?
- A2：First, you need to have internship experience in a related industry or similar company; Secondly, the school community activities and social practice activities such as all kinds of volunteer services; Third, entrepreneurial creativity activities or innovation camps; Fourth, all kinds of high gold content of the contest.
- Q3: When we go to interview the company that has language ability requirement, how do we need to apply for the resume to be admitted more easily? Do we need a copy of the English certificate?
- A3：The key to solving this problem lies in English ability. The first is to have to meet the needs of the employer's language ability, the second is how to describe the problem of English ability. It is suggested that students with English certificates should write it clearly on their resumes. Students with high scores of cet-4 and cet-6 can also write it out. If the certificate is not strong, but you have a good command of English, you can put some past English writing/speaking works, or even write an article for your resume to prove it. As for the copy of the certificate for the resume screening significance is not particularly big (except for the specific requirements of the enterprise), in the admission process HR will generally verify its authenticity.
