Feeling the creation of art，spreading the spirit of culture

On the last day of November 2018. invited by the ISIB teacher of Brand History, the general manager of Shanghai Yuehu Park-Ms.Michelle Lai made a lecture to the ISIB freshmen. The content is about the International (Sculpture and Painting) Symposium’s development and history, designing and techniques. She shared many stories about communicating and working with artists,which showed us a kind of special and interesting art value. Michelle's sharing moved us a lot and made a great guidance to our work in art communicating ,transmission and creating in the future.

Shanghai Yuehu Sculpture Park
Shanghai Yuehu Sculpture Park is located in Sheshan National Tourist Resort,which also be built surrounding the lake.The park was invested by the president of the Taiwan,China ChinBaoSan Group ,Mr.Rizhang Cao.The sculpture park not only has the view of nature but also the modern landscaping artworks.Guilin Yuzi Park had held Shuipan Sculpture Symposium for its contribution.According to the theme of “Yuehu”, artists had created more than sixty sculptures ,which were exhibited by the side of lake,showed the style of warm and soft . Many among them have the meaning :water is the resource of life, calling on people to love and protect the nature.

Ms.Lai began the lecture from the starting of International Sculpture Symposium in 1959.According to its great development in Europe ,Guilin and Shanghai in China,she used many typical artists’ creating stories to show us the impacting between art and culture,the combination between techniques and reality.Which let us feel the beauty of the connection between art and society.Then she introduced the International Painting Symposium in a similar way,which made the class full of fun .Many students has showed that they could not wait to visit and view the Yuehu Sculpture Park.

In Q&A ,Ms.Lai answered students’ questions with her life and working experience about art communication and transmission. She said,"If you have the interests ,just try your best to follow the desire.” She also made a lot suggestions for us ,encouraging us to look for more chances to develop our art knowledge. It’s a great guidance for us to study the art from the branding perspective.

Ms.Lai spread the art culture and value of it in her life. Students has also felt how important art means to life, studying and working in the future.Thanks Ms.Lai for her wonderful lecture!
