ISIB Student Qualifies for the Final Oxford Global Challenge Event
The Final Round of the Global Challenge was held at Said Business School, University of Oxford on 1 May, 2017. ISIB's Ben Zhang represented the Detao Academy. As a Year 3 student in Brand Strategy and Management, he had triumphed in the Preliminary Round in Shanghai. At Oxford University, he competed with contestants from Australia, Canada, China, Malaysia, the UK and the US.
It was the first time that Asian institutions and universities had been invited to the Global Challenge. Contestants were required to provide their own unique insights into social and environmental issues.
The teams received comments from judges from all walks of life. They included Cheryl Dahle, CEO and founder of Flip Labs, Baljeet Sandhu, founding director of the Migrant & Refugee Children's Legal Unit (MiCLU), and Avani Patel, investment director of the Peery Foundation.
Although "Ben" didn't win a prize, he deserves praise for making a particularly imaginative and confident speech. His achievement is all the more remarkable when we consider that he was the youngest competitor taking part.
China has high hopes for future success in the Global Challenge. And Detao Academy, as a provider of innovative education and comprehensive services, will continue to work with universities to nurture the creative thinking skills recognised in international awards like this.
